Booking conditions

The following conditions apply to rentals booked via the website www.moventur.it , the Moventur call center, the APP or directly at the rental office. Some conditions may vary if the booking is made through an intermediary or following a company agreement: in this case the contractual conditions shall apply.

1. BOOKING

The amount booked includes what is expressly indicated in the booking summary confirmed at the end of the booking process and by email. Are excluded any additional costs for supplements, accessories required at the time of rental or other amounts charged to the customer in accordance with the provisions of the General Conditions and Particular Conditions of rental. At the time of booking, the category of the vehicle booked is guaranteed, but not a specific model. By confirming the booking, the Client acknowledges having read and accepted these Conditions.

2. PREPAYMENT 

The “Prepayment” is an irrevocable purchase proposal that the Client makes in favor of Moventur when booking the rental. Upon confirmation of the reservation, the customer who has chosen the “Prepayment” option agrees to pay a sum equal to the cost of the service booked as a guarantee. The amount deposited will be retained, on account of price, at the signing of the rental contract. The amount due upon confirmation of booking can be paid by credit card or debit card. At the time of rental, the customer must present a credit card in his name, registered and internationally recognized (Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Union Pay), for the blocking of the deposit, if required.

3. CHANGES TO THE RESERVATION

The Client can modify the reservation without any charge to him. In the event that the customer modifies relevant data of the reservation (group booked, date/time of pick-up/delivery, pick-up/delivery station) the system may not guarantee the availability of the vehicle and / or the rate initially booked and / or prepaid. If, as a result of the changes, a higher amount is owed by the Client than that which may have been prepaid, the Client must settle the difference by making a new payment. If the balance is lower, no refund is due and the difference will be retained as a penalty.

4. CANCELLATION OF RESERVATION

The Client may cancel the reservation before the date/time of the vehicle pick-up without any additional charge to him, up to 24 hours before the vehicle pick-up. If the cancellation takes place within 24 hours prior to the pick-up of the vehicle, the customer has to pay a cancellation fee of 30 €. In case of pre-payment, the customer can obtain the reimbursement of the prepaid amount, net of any penalty, by submitting a request to Moventur through the channels and tools provided.

5. CUSTOMER NO-SHOW

If the customer does not show up for the conclusion of the rental without having cancelled the reservation, he/she will be charged a penalty equal to the entire amount booked and possibly prepaid at the time of booking confirmation.

6. DELAYS AND “OUT OF HOURS” RENTALS

Rentals in airport or railway offices At the time of completing the booking, the Client is required to indicate the flight/train number. In the presence of this information, the vehicle will be kept at the Client’s disposal until a maximum of 59 minutes after the flight landing or train arrival and in any case not later than 60 minutes after the closing time of the rental office. In case of pick up of the vehicle after the closing time of the rental office, the “Out of Hours” service will be applied at the cost indicated in the Special Rental Conditions.

The vehicle will be kept at the Customer’s disposal up to a maximum of 59 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time and in any case no later than the closing time of the rental office.

7. CUSTOMER QUALIFICATION AND RENTAL

At the time of the rental, the Client must be in possession of a complete identity document with the data of residence, a driving license valid for circulation in Italy and must present a credit card or debit card in his name.
Customers who are not resident in Italy must be in possession of a valid driver’s license for international use or translated by an embassy or equivalent authority and legible in Latin characters. In any case Moventur reserves the right to decline the rental if the guarantees offered by the customer are not considered sufficient.
At the time of signing the contract, the Customer must be at least:

  • 18 years old to rent a motor vehicle

For drivers under 19 years old and/or with a driving license obtained less than 12 months ago, only category B and C vehicles may be rented. Drivers aged between 18 and 21 years is required to pay the additional mandatory service “Young driver 18-21” and is allowed to rent vehicles belonging only to the categories B C D E.

Drivers aged between 22 and 24 years are required to pay the additional mandatory service “Young driver 22-24”.

In the event that the Customer does not meet the requirements for qualification, including in particular:

  • Does not have a valid driving license for driving in Italy
  • Does not have a complete identity document with the data of residence
  • Does not possess a credit card in his name, registered and internationally recognized (Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Union Pay)
  • Provides a credit card without sufficient funds to cover the cost of the rental, the cost of any additional services and the security deposit (if required)
  • Is under 18 years of age or has booked a car group that is not allowed for the age group at the time of pick-up
  • You have had your driving license for less than 12 months and have booked a group car other than B or C
  • Refuses to provide their contact details

No reimbursement for the reservation will be due and any prepaid amount will be retained as a penalty. The amount possibly prepaid by the customer upon confirmation of the booking – except as indicated in paragraph 4 – is not refundable. Therefore, any change to the rental contract that results in an amount due that is less than the prepaid amount, does not entitle the customer to any refund.
